Most of the founding members of OPM Laboratory had many years’ experience developing solution software from the algorithm level in the CAD/CAM and IT industries. Based on this experience, they successfully developed the world’s first 3D printer control software for a system combining a laser with a cutter, based on a specialized CAM system.
Since 2004, we already have supplied this system to more than 100 companies, as it has become the de facto standard CAM system for hybrid metal 3D printers.

High Quality CAM System for Metal 3D Printer MARKS-MILL

This system generates data for both the laser and the cutter from input CAD data including IGES, STEP, and Parasolid data. It makes it possible to generate high-precision cutting paths through high-speed calculation using its own proprietary algorithms.

Laser data generation

OPM-GenLaser

Launch this application from MARKS-MILL to generate laser data for sintering.
It can be used to generate a wide range of laser data including three-layer melt/skin/core structures and data for chessboard sintering methods, through 3D offsetting of 3D models input. It also can be used for fabrication based on scanner data, since it is capable of creating laser data from STL files as well.

OPM-Optimizer

This Optimizer application launched from MARKS-MILL is a tool especially for optimization editing of cutting data.
It greatly reduces cutting time and lessens the load of cutting thanks to its high-performance, high-speed editing functions operated in the same way as MARKS-MILL.

Simulation (data verification)

OPM-Verify

This Verify application is a tool for verifying laser and cutting data after generating it.
Its cutting simulation can be sued to confirm cutting depths and residual materials. Its fabrication time estimation function can be used to calculate the time needed in consideration of the printer’s movements, for appropriate process controls.
